About James Scott

“Do the right thing, do what you say you will do and make your clients smile."
James is a multi-industry-award-winning agent and auctioneer. With over seven years of experience working within the real estate industry, he loves the endless challenges and dynamism his role provides, helping his clients make life-changing decisions and doing it with a smile.
James discovered his love for real estate in London at the beginning of 2016 where he worked as a residential development consultant, in a role that saw him liaise with major landlords, property consultancies and developers across the UK, Europe and Asia. With a degree in International Relations from Sydney University, he is a proven communicator and is able to build strong relationships with both buyers and sellers from a diverse range of cultures and backgrounds.
In 2019, James moved back to his hometown of Canberra and joined Independent Property Group where he gained experience working within the sales, rental, strata and project markets, with a speciality in helping his clients generate wealth through property. James has been able to leverage his extensive Canberra market knowledge and high-stake sales experience to achieve the best results for his clients. In 2022 he joined the team at Verv Property.
Improving his clients' experience is central to James' business approach and is reflected in his receipt of a number of industry awards. He keeps his sellers involved and updated throughout the process, and is always personable, professional and honest. James was also named REIACT's "Novice Auctioneer of the Year 2021" and uses his skills to provide a holistic sales service, working closely with buyers and understanding their needs and motivations.
James is highly passionate about his work and the Canberra region. He holds a Level 2 award in wine and also works for the Lake George Winery as he believes that our wine, like our homes, tells our story of who we are and where we come from. He strives to stay active and involved in his community, working closely with a number of local small businesses as well as supporting the AFP Legacy Foundation and hosting various charity events. He is also a die-hard rugby union fan and can often be seen at GIO Stadium cheering on his beloved Brumbies.
